Installation problems

Hi, new poster here, im having a problem installing tools 8 onto my XP system, the error is of a install kind.

Feature Transfer Error - Type - Documentation - Plugins - F:/Protoo~6/Data6.cab - The request could not be performed because of an I/O error.


This has me stumped as i have followed the instructions to the letter, i have already installed on my intel system and on my macbook pro and had no troubles installing on either.

i have tried using the un-installer twice and had no luck, have physically removed the registry info and folder on the master hdd after uninstalling and restart and still having this problem.

Any help would be great. And yes i must have it on all three systems, the two pc`s are networked as a master/slave setup and the macbook is my traveller.

Might try copying the installer from the disk to your hard drive, and running it from there.

yeah i might try that. its strange that it would intall to the other two but not the amd system..... cheers for the reply mate.

This is something that I don’t completely understand but people have had PT load just fine and then had to re-download or re-unzip to get it to work again. I know it makes no sense. Also make sure you have the latest Winrar.

Ok thanks for the posts fellas. I ended up having to do a system restore and after that the install went smooth as.

Im mystified as to why it didnt install the first time.

All i have to say about that is.....

Why do i bother with windows still?
