Other choices I have and use frequently:
UAD/Lexicon 224 (incidentally, available natively so you don’t need the hardware)
UAD/Lexicon 480
Eventide Stereo Room
That being said, I’m still in Rosetta mode (Ventura/2023.12.1) and it causes zero problems.

I sometimes forget that I can open PT in Rosetta and reclaim some plugins that are, in my mind, not available. Having gotten so accustomed to Silicon it's frustrating using Rosetta. But I'm happy that it's still an option.

It's interesing for me that you dind't like the Relab LX480, I droped my PCM91 and Lexicon PCM plugins after a few weeks with it, and never looked back.

Relab also has the Sonsig and the QuantX, that imho, are very nice.

Have you tried the Capitol chambers from UAD?

Yeah - I like it, I'm just looking for a different thing.



I'm sensing a trend though. There was only one plugin verb that approached hardware to me - that was the PCMs. Now they are not made and few mixers use hardware much these days (even me - I have a TON of hardware). Maybe that lush sound is really dead and I need to grow up?

Are you talking Lexicon specifically or hardware in general? If in general, TC's VSS3 and VSS4 are pulled directly from Reverb 4000 / System 6000 and I am hoping they unleash surround versions also.

In TDM days, I loved the TC VSS3 sound. However, I just kept reading bad things about the AAX version and didn't consider it when updating. Does it work on Silicon Native and is there an upgrade path?

Also Relab were supposed to be introducing this for the last half a decade, but the VSS3 seems troublesome.

Yes all of them are native. There should be upgrade path from TDM also, and once you have VSS3 AAX there is upgrade path to bigger bundles.

I went from TDM to AAX on the VSS3 and it sounds the same. It took TC awhile to port to Apple Silicon (and they're not exactly big on publicizing when they release updates), but it works and sounds the same (I opened/checked old sessions versus their original mixes).

I always perceived of the the TC verbs (the 3000 and VSS3) as being more "open" and less "thick" than the Lexicons (we had the 300) but still great, useful sound
