I had the same thing with one fader on my fairly new (second hand) D-Command ES. Apparently it was one of the first batches of the D-Command ES with the "old" faders. When I called my dealer he told me these old faders would all be replaced by a newer type free of charge (I only have the 8 fader version).
Then it turned out AVID has changed their policy on this. I received only 1 new fader free of charge to replace the fighting one. I can replace them all with the new ones, but have to pay. I found this a bit strange...
