Default Re: Carbon or a powerful Mac?

I've been using a carbon with a intel mac mini for several months now and I can tell you that even if you get a carbon you're still going to want a M1. I engineer huge pop sessions, tons of tracks and plugins. Carbon is amazing in so many ways but if you're using an intel machine you'll actually have less native power than before because the carbon makes your mac run HOT. You'll have to disable intel turbo boost because the fans will be on off the rip, thus a small performance loss. I already need every drop of power from my maxed out intel mini. The dsp for mixing in terms of off loading plugins and making your machine more powerful is not really that useful considering how few plugins it takes to max out the dsp and considering how many native plugins you can run on a new machine. So my advice is get a carbon and also get a new m1 computer (or wait for the updated m1 mini like me).
