Default real 9093 error fix please (digi ? halloo....)

Hellow Digi,
I am having a rather pathetic and patience testing time with these never ending 9093 errors. I have done all the supposed fixes and trashes in the troubleshooting guides and whatever I have been able to gleen from searches etc. but it makes no difference.

One point is that it has nothing to do with the System Usage meter. I keep getting these errors, but my system usage is not anywhere close to redlining. Or my CPU, etc. The meters are supposed to be a representation of what is going on in the system etc. right? So how can it be wrong?

It has nothing to do with how many tracks / plugs etc. It makes little or no difference where I set the playback buffer. My System Usage meters are not redlining or even close.
I am running PT 6.1.2 / OSX 10.2.8 / 001 /G4 1.4g

I didn't have this problem with PT5 / OS9

I've been using PT since it was invented, but this error thing really has me stumped.

Your help to find a real working fix is greatly appreciated.

What drive(s) are you recording or playing back from?

Are there any other cards installed in the computer?

Did anything change when you tried a new administrator account?

Are there any wireless devices enabled?

The hard drives are a 180 gig 7200 and a 120 gig 7200 both mounted internally. I do have a 250 gig firewire as well.
It doesn't make any difference which drive is used for the audio files (none of them are the system drive)
I have no other cards except a scusi card which has been there from the begining.
I have tried starting from scratch on another system drive (partitioned) and still get these errors.
No airport cards or anything like that. This computer is only used for music.

One question, does the system usage meter not reflect the actual state of affairs in the system?
I am not overloading my CPU, and am not near overloading my system as far as the usage meter in PT goes.
But I keep getting these damn errors, sometimes at very inopertune times.
It's very random it seems.

Have you tried formatting and putting only Pro Tools back on?

Then install your other apps one by one to see when the problem comes back. There is probably software or hardware interrupting it. Chances are, with a clean reinstall of the OS and only Pro Tools Le it'll work fine.

Formatting can be frustrating, but in my mind, not as frustrating as trying to randomly poke around with files trying to fix a seemily random problem.

Good Luck.

Which SCSI card is it? What happens if you pull out the SCSI card?

Thanks for your responses.
I believe it's an Atto SCSI card. I've never had a problem with it, and I don't use it for hard drive storage, just for occasional burning to CDs etc.
I don't get all these errors in PT5 on OS9, only on PT6. I have different systems on different drives and can switch between them.
Again, I was sondering if the System usage meter actualy reflects whats going on in the system?

I have done clean installations on new systems and it doesn't fix it either.

I'm having the same troubles and I'm thinking about going the HD route, but then it looks like there are bugs and fixes (or not) and maybe the same amount of hassle there. But have you investigated that?

Not really interested in the HD route at this point. (Had a TDM system before and it had problems as well.) I don't actually have a problem with the amount of power I have, just that there are these bugs.

I would really appreciate an answer from Digidesign to my question "Does the System Usage meter actualy reflect whats going on in the system?".

The errors I am getting repeatedly (9093) are that the system has put off interupts too long etc. But the System usage meter isn't even close to maxing out.

I would suspect that this should be a relatively easy question to answer and I would really appreciate an answer.

Thanks in advance for your knowlegable reply, Tex
