Default Which SATA 2 drive for G5 Dual Core

Im looking to buy a second drive for my new G5 2GHZ Dual Core to use as an audio drive and was wondering if the G5 SATA controller on the motherboard will run one of these SATA 2 drives
(I want of these three one because of the 16MB cache and they are priced just right)

Seagate: ST3320620AS
Seagate 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3Gb/s 16MB cache Barracuda 7200.10

WESTERN DIGITAL: WD 7200rpm 320GB 16MB Int SATA 2 Carviar SE
WD3200KS

WESTERN DIGITAL: WD Single 7200rpm 320GB 16MB Int SATA2 Caviar Raid
WD3200YS

System will be a PT HD2 PCIe so Im wondering if something like this would be OK?
OR I have seen a number of PCIe SATA II cards so maybee I should get one of these and use in slot3 ?

thanks in advance
Dave

You should check this
http://firmtek.com/seritek/seritek-2se2-e/
and this
http://firmtek.com/seritek/seritek-2en2/

I am usin the PCIX Firmteks on a G4 1.25 MIXCUBE System OS 9 and on a Dual G5 1.8 with HD2
Well built products with very good performance

Regarding drives i would prefer to stay away from Seagate, and go with the WD or Hittachi

Why would you prefer to stay away from Seagate? Just curious.

My experience with ST SCSI's was quite bad in the past, but this month went over the limits, since i had 2 brand new SATA's failed the SMART test, and finally went urecognized and not accesible by the system under a 3 day testing, and the 3rd(IDE) one which i bought it 15 days ago, took it off the antistatic bag, placed it an enclosure, and the drive never worked(tried it on 2 more enclosures
with diff chipsets...and never worked RIP "__}

FWIW ....

i have 12 SEAGATE CHEETAH drives ... NOT ONE has gone bad in 6 years....

Western Digital on the other hand ... 2 out of 3 went BAD! ...

YMMV
