Read only drives with digibase?
I am working on a fibre channel network which uses volume level write access for drives. This means that a user will normally have just one drive for which they have permission to be able to write, and the rest for which they can only read. I have now started testing PT6.0, and it seems that it will only work if the computer has write access to all drives.
This confuses me somewhat seeing as the digibase will save a database onto the mac HD for any other volumes when it can't write to them. What is the solution to this? Is it possible to tell digibase to always save database files onto the mac HD? Please let me know if it is possible - otherwise what is the point of having drives that are playback only, but are not allowed to be read only by the OS? JW
