So this learning that you have been doing for the last two years SysEx is this self-pace learning or through an institute? I read, when I have the time, subtractive synthesis, music theory and what not. Totally fascinating.

What makes impOSCar and the ARP 2600 standout from the rest? And have you tried AIR Hybrid? Does it compare?

Self-place learning using internet articles as well as books.
Practice was in the "Culture Palace" as sound operator during different events.

The most interesting to read for me was "Psychoacoustics". Also interesting the power of music: what kind of music makes goose skin (may be posh chords or rhythm which fit frequencies of our body)?

impOSCar is a subtractive synthesis synth. Building DnB-style basses with it is simple.
ARP2600 is an addictive\fm synth with sequencer. I like to experiment with different patterns with it.

Sorry, but I have no Hybrid yet.

I must be missing something here, because all the Axiom lines work on Win7.

Is there feature you're not getting with the driver that comes with Windows?

{When you connect, and it fails to find the driver, then prompts you for a location to search, you have to search for the Axiom compatible Win7 driver starting from the root C: drive or it windows wont find it. Yeah, weird.}

I'm using my Axiom61 on Win7 64bit for 5 months now.

All the hoo-haa about this HyperControl technology but STILL no Win7 drivers after they released drivers for just about everything else about 2 months ago.

The worst thing is that, when you check the Win7 status on their webpage, the Axiom Pro isn't even mentioned.

I bought this keyboard because I thought it was pretty future proof (short term). Problem is I am having to wait an awful long time for m audio to catch up to the present.

The Oxygen compares nicely with the Axiom Pro at the 25-key version.

The Axiom Pro 25 is $499, the Oxygen 25 is $149.

Same:
* 25 keys
* 8 Knobs
* Separate Mod/Pitch
* Transport Buttons
* Direct Link

Axiom Diff's:
* DirectLink w/LiveLink (2-way parameters changes between DAW & Controller) {Thus, tada: HyperControl}
* 8 Pads
* Higher Resolution Display
* Sturdier construction
* Can send ASCII keyboard commands to DAW.

Oxygen Diff's:
* 1 Slider (DirectLinked to Master Volume in DAW).
** You can simulate LiveLink with latch mode, but its really not the same.

You do get alot more with the Axiom Pro, just not worth the $350 extra for a 25-key travel controller.

Dear TwinSnakes007

You have really made my day!!!

I can't tell you how many times I have tried to install my Axiom Pro (Win 7 x64) without success. Your post inspired me to have one last go.

The installer came up and said no way Jose. Then it disappeared and a message came up saying I had to unplug my Keyboard so the 64 bit drivers could be installed! (Never seen that message before).

So I did this and everything seemed to go well and it said everything was installed correctly. I now had to reconnect the Axiom Pro and Windows would complete the installation. I did this and sure enough windows installed some stuff.

Being a pessimist, I went into device manager to check for yellow exclamation marks but there were none.

I opened up Pro Tools and went to the peripherals bit and selected M Audio Keyboard - then tentatively went to see if Hypercontrol In was available. It was !

And Hypercontrol Out ? Yes

Pressed OK...My Axiom Pro display came to life with "Pro Tools Control Surface is Online"

Tried everything and, touch wood, it's all working!

So...thanks.
I think my use of smilies is pretty representative of the way I am feeling just now.

Paul

Hi,
I am also into music theory, starting with classical harmony theory,
passing over octave-analogous molecular tunings, up-to planetary tunings.

Would be great to chat with you some day.
