Default How do you make an audio CD from Mac OS?

I am a long time PC Pro Tools guy that recently bought a MacBook Pro as a mobile rig and still getting my arms around some of the differences.

How do I make an audio CD of mixes from the Mac? I assume that the bounce feature will allow me to bounce the file to a Wav file correct? Once it's bounced and I insert a disc into the CD drive, is there a special program I need to purchase or does Mac have a standard convention for burning audio disc formats? I use Nero on PC.

How do you do this?

This is one of those things I couldn't ever really figure out with any confidence.
When you insert a disc you get a temporary burn folder. From there I don't know if wav files will burn as a data cd or redbook.

Last time I used iTunes to burn...not my preference though.

Toast is what most people use though i think.

For audio cd's, Itunes is the cheapest, being that it's free and already installed on every mac. Some people have had better results with 3rd party programs. A couple of inexpensive ones would be Bias Peak LE 6 or Roxio Toast Titanium.

The Finder only burns data CD's/DVD's - you need to use iTunes to burn audio CD's.

iTunes will work but you have to be careful to NOT convert to AAC or mp3 on the way into iTunes. Toast is a much better solution and is well worth the money IMHO.

That's easily avoided by going to iTunes>Preferences>General and clicking on "Import Setting". In that window, make sure it's set to AIFF, WAV or Apple Lossless in the 'Import Using' drop-down menu.

iTunes will work using this okay. It doesn't burn Red Book compliant CD's, but it's a reasonable alternative to Toast (but Toast is the way to go... or Peak LE).
