Default Using iPod in LIVE scenario...

I created my own backing tracks in PT8 and I will be advancing the tracks myself, live.

I Dithered them and bounced them down to 16bit, 44.1, WAV files. I now have them on my iPod. I did not convert them to AAC, in fact they are not converted at all. They are on my iPod in the same uncompressed WAV file that I bounced from PT. Approx 35-60MB per file.

Here's the question:

Am I losing any sonic quality by choosing to use my iPod to advance the tracks vs that of a traditional CD player? I would hate to 'bump' the ole CD unit and have it skip during performance. I just want to verify that the sonic quality coming out of my iPod will be just as great as that of a burned CD. Plus shuttling around on my iPod is a touch easier.

THX,
Scott

PA systems are usually not very hi-fidelity. You're probably losing more "audio quality" there than anywhere else in the signal chain..

Are you using the dock connector line outs or the headphone out? I would think it would be better to use the dock connector, but, again, not a big difference there..
