Default Pro tools M-powered 7 and intel core duo...

Hello,

I would like to switch from mac to pc, and dell have a new machine called inspiron 9400 with a core duo inside, do you think pro tools 7 m-powered would work without any trouble or i must wait digidesign to certify it ?

Thanks.

Default Re: Pro tools M-powered 7 and intel core duo...

I just upgraded my machine from a Pentium 4 to an hp m7650n with a core 2 duo 1.8ghz. even though 1.8ghz isnt a ton, the computer cen be upgraded from 2gig of ram to 8!. anyway I used to get a lot of " youre running out of #%&*! CPU " messages with old machine, but now I can run several complex plug ins without any problem. The core 2 duo hasnt been certified by digi yet because it is so new, I hope they end up approving it for digi-use, but so far my computer works great. I'm using PT M-powered 7 with a Delta 10/10 rkmt, and so far very happy. ( all of my software installed at least twice as fast on Core 2 duo macine as did on 3 yr. old Pentium 4 machine. Good Luck
PS. I actually sent the same question to the digi techs but have not as of yet recieved a response, they are probably digi-testing it as we speak. Welcome to PC world!
