Default MBOX Problems

I have bought a mbox to run with my Acer1801 laptop. Although whenever i try and play or record, it get buffer effor messages, telling me to increase the buffer, even though the buffer is already at maximum. Also when i run guitar rig (standalone), the signal drops out all the time and i get short bursts of static, these static bursts also occur when i get errors when trying to play or record in pro tools.
Anyone got an ideas what i can do to get this working, i cant even play back a song with 1 track in it without constant buffer errors!

Have you tried all of the steps in the General Troubleshooting Thread?

Yes, tried all the steps as suggested in the troubleshooting threads, but still having no luck. Cant' even record 1 single track with a click for more than 10 secs without mbox cutting out and getting a burst of static. I've tried it on my desktop system as well as my laptop and the results are the same. Any ideas anyone?

I'm sorry, but no you haven't. The last step of that general troubleshooting thread says:
Quote:
Note: To enable other users to help you, please include all of your system details when posting an issue to the DUC; Pro Tools hardware, Pro Tools software version, CPU, OS version, Motherboard make/model, chipset, amount of RAM, type of hard drives used, etc.

- SiSoftware's Sandra Lite application can be used to post your full system profile.
http://www.sisoftware.net/index.html...64&langx=en&a=

Since you missed this step, it's highly likely that you missed some others as well.

Have been using Mbox, with 6.9LE

Thats my laptop spec, i didn't miss any of the other steps, i've set up many pro tools systems from HD to LE systems, so i do know what i'm doing, but it seems i have been stumped by my own mbox!!!

I tried it tonight on a G5 running 6.9 as well, but encountered the same problem of the audio cutting out, and getting bursts of static along with buffer errors all the time! Anyone else come across anything like this? starting to think it's my mbox hadware to fault.
