Couple of thoughts and some workarounds required here I think

- You can save a version of your sessions : Song A / Song B etc etc ...
- Now once all songs covered you go to Song A
- under the region or clips list select unused and 'remove' all the unused regions or clips from that session (removing will NOT hard delete them from your hard disc)
- Next you select 'save session copy in' from the file menu. Make sure you check the boxes for this version to include the audio files and anything else you want to save with it.
- Browse to a different directory and save your session copy

This will create a nice copy, assembling everything related to that session, no matter where and on what drives the originals are spread out ... all into one place.

Once done repeat the same procedure with your other sessions or songs.

Bit of a workaround that way but imo the safest way to make sure you isolate things properly

Chris

And to test that everything is OK, move the old "parent"-session folder to the trash without emptying and check that all the newly saved files open OK.

You should read up on PT templates in the manual.

for the future, create a template that you are comfortable working in. save it as a stationary pad and lock it. when you go to open a new session, don't double click the template file, drag it onto the pro tools application. this will bring up a window that asks if you want to modify the template, or create a new session.

create a new session, and rock on

The Save Session as Template works grate and keeps the templates in a nice set of folders easily accessible from the Make New Session drop down

to clean up your 5 projects that are sharing 1 Audio Files folder, open each session and use Save Session Copy In and check the copy all audio files box
this will copy all the fils used in the timeline or list into the new session folder
