Default On Digi 002 with PT9 (windows) can you use 2 channels ADAT at higher sample rates?

I would have posted this on the LE forum but since I have PT9 now, I figured this was okay.

Quick question. I have Windows 7 , PT9.01, Digi 002.

Currently run my spdif with an apogee mini me. I have / use a digimax for my adat. (which obviously can't run higher than 48khz.)

My question is: Can I run the ADAT line as a 2 channel digital input at higher sample rates? (88.2 / 96) So if I got a 2 channel preamp with an adat optical out, would the digi 002 / pt 9 accept this at those higher sample rates? (Does apogee make one like this? Rosetta??) Or, If I got another Mini Me could I get a spdif to adat converter?

(When I'm in a project with higher sample rates it DOES show ADAT 1 and ADAT 2, so I'm presuming I can.)

Thanks!

Why don't you just try it? I'm not sure, but its possible that it works fine. Or its possible that when you select the optical port=SPDIF, then maybe the RCA SPDIF port doesn't work. It will take all of 10 minutes to just give it a go

Hi. I can't try it because I don't have a preamp / A/D converter with ADAT optical out that goes up to 96Khz. But I might buy one if I knew it could do it. My digimax only goes up to 48khz.

Anyone else know?

From the 002 Getting Started guide:
Quote:
The Optical I/O ports support sample rates of
44.1 and 48 kHz in ADAT Optical mode, and
sample rates up to 96 kHz in Optical S/PDIF
mode. The Optical I/O ports support 24-bit,
20-bit and 16-bit resolutions in both modes.
