Default M Powered to LE?

Hi Folks....

I know that M Powered and LE are basically the same - but I really want to buy the new M-Box Pro interface (instead of Fast Track Ultra) and can't use it with M Powered. It comes with LE in the box - should I just swap over to LE (I guess all of my projects will still work - right?!)..... Or is there an equivalent M-Audio Interface on the way....?

Sorry if its a dumb question....

Tony.

Not a dumb question! The new M-Box interfaces are a vast improvement over the older M-Box designs, I absolutely love that luxurious new volume knob...

M-Powered and LE sessions are compatible.

No one is going to give you a straight answer about what is coming from the M-Audio brand... but if these new M-Box interfaces have the I/O you need and will work for you they make a really good choice:

Eddie - one more question please...

Before I buy the M Box 3 Pro - my PC has Firewire 400 ports - I read that this device is Firewire 800? Is that a showstopper??

Appreciate your advice...

Best

Tony.

It isn't FW800...

Go to the specs page, do some reading. Find out exactly what you get from this thing.

you'll need a 400-800 Firewire cable like this one:

Not a show stopper : )

OK - have it on order. Due to reach the UK on Halloween!!

Another question.....when I install LE and uninstall M Powered in order to run the M-Box3 Pro - what will happen to all of my existing plug-ins? Will they automatically transition over to LE in the right place so I just run my old .ptf projects - and they will be there?? Or will I have to reinstall every plug in again??! By the way - my fast track ultra has now expired completely - it won't even power up...

Thanks for everything guys...

Best

Tony.
