Default Mbox 2 Micro Question

if i record my sessions at 24 bit 96 kHz with the 003 then use the mbox 2 micro to mix/edit on the road i have to convert the session to 24/48 - then convert back to 24/96 once i'm back on the 003

my question: am i losing quality doing this? is this the best way? advice appreciated

Whether you're actually losing quality by downsampling to 48kHz, or gaining any by recording at 96kHz in the first place is a matter of opinion. It IS a fact that when you downsample to 48kHz, you will lose any information contained in that upper frequency octave. It is also a fact that once you've done that, going back up to 96kHz would be simply pointless.

Yeah, I'd say your first problem is recording at 96k in the first place. Stick with 48k and you won't have to deal with this issue, and you'll have a lot more hard drive space left over to work with to boot.
