Can’t get my iloks (any plugs) to show up on my Mac Pro in PT
So..... i have tried a bunch of things..... I did download the ilok software - and synchronized - so I know my computer can see my USB hub that has my iloks in it.... but when I boot ProTools on my Mac Pro it doesn’t see any of the iloks at all. any ideas? yes - I know that PT LE isn’t officially supported yet on the Mac Pro... but I want to try it out ASAP. Once the Mac Pro sees the iloks, i’ll be fine. many thanks! |

It's been awhile since I set up my Pro Tools machine, but IIRC there were two things you had to install:
1. The iLok client to synchronize with the iLok web site. It sounds like you already have this installed from www.ilok.com 2. The actual iLok driver. You can download this from www.paceap.com under "End Users" Mark |

Thanks so much! I'm an idiot - I had forgotten about the iLok driver from www.paceap.com Having said that - I just installed it, repaired premissions, and rebooted and ProTools still doesnt see any plugins at all.... it is as if the computer doesnt see the iloks.... but the wierd thing is - when I go to ilok.com and login I can synchronize and see all the plugs, and the webpage sees all the plugs. Any ideas - anyone? many thanks MixerGuy |

It's going to be a slow move to the intel platform, with plugin support.
ALL of your plugins on the MacPro HAVE to be specific UB or iNtel versions. you need to go surfing for UB versions and updates for the plugins in DV Toolkit, and any other plugins you own. Metric Halo Channel Strip Antares None of the "Main stuff" I use, is ready for the intel platform yet. I've bought an intel iMac to slowly "Ease into" the intel/mac platform, keeping it LE right now, with "Plain Jane Pro-Toolks LE" no plugins, Ableton Live, and DP 5.1 ... I'll buy applications, Plugins, and updates as they become available... and when I'm at the point where all of my main production tools are available, and stable on the intel platform... I'll move my HD Accel system to intel, as well as my other LE systems, personal PB to a MBP etc... I suspect it'll be a year before I'm "Moved over" Good luck to you... good luck to us all as the tides be a changin'

Well, I'm an idiot.
A pal told me to download the Intel versions from: http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...0&itemid=22949 and that fixed the problem. I'm an idiot. Did I mention that I'm an idiot? |
