Default Avoid Protools for OSX like the Plague

I am a Godly man, but right now, I hate Protools for OSX. I am sick of it crashing and me loosing my work. I’m sorry but in the middle of creating, I should not have to stop what I’m doing to hit the save button every five seconds.

Barry,

Frequent crashing can be caused for a number of reasons, corrupt permissions, bad preference files, incorrectly formatted hard drives, etc. Please try all of the suggestions on the following thread and see how the system performs.

I hope this helps.

we are happy users of OS9.2.2 and PT 5.2.1. High track counts in the Davec test, rare crashing...if it ain't broke, why fix it.

IMHO PT6 is a buggy beta at best, and those buying it are paying to be beta testers.

Hope this is helpful.

this "beta tester" couldn't be happier with PT6.01 and OS X. I hated switching to OS 9 for ProTools only, and now I'm so happy to get to stay in OSX all the time. No crashes, great track counts and that beautiful aqua interface!

I RECENTLY TOO HAD BEEN SCREAMING ON THIS SITE ABOUT PT-6 AND CRASHING. IN FACT I WAS DOWN RIGHT PISSED AND AFTER 3 WEEKS OF MADDINING FRUSTRATIONS I MADE IT VERY CLEAR ALL OVER THIS SITE ABOUT MY CRASHING ISSUES!
NOW ITS ONLY FAIR THAT I REPORT BACK AND LET OTHERS KNOW WHAT FIXED MOST OF MY PROBLEMS. REPLACING CORRUPTED MEMORY! I HAD DONE EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN..ALL THE POSTS DIGI POSTED ON MAC OSX PROBLEM SOLVING DIDNT DO IT.BY RUNNING APPLE SYSTEM PROFILER THE 2 GIGS OF MEMORY I ADDED SHOWED UP FINE, BUT THE MEMORY WAS NOT FINE! ONLY AFTER RUNNING A SYSTEM CHECK(IM SORRY I DONT KNOW THE CORRECT NAME OF SOFTWARE) WITH THE SOFTWARE THAT CAME WITH MY MAC DID I DISCOVER 1 GIG OF MY 2 GIGS WAS BAD. AND IN ORDER TO FIND THE BAD CHIPS I HAD TO REMOVE ALL CHIPS BUT 1 AND RUN THESE TESTS ON EACH INDIVIDUAL CHIP TO DETERMINE THE BAD APPLES. GIVE THIS A RUN.IT MIGHT NOT APPLY TO YOU BUT ITS GOT TO APPLY TO SOMEONE OUT THERE. HAD ANYONE SHARED THIS INFO WITH ME IT WOULD HAVE SAVED ME VALUABLE TIME AND ENERGY! THEIR ARE STILL SOME QWERKS BUT OVERALL IM MUCH HAPPIER AND LESS CRASH LADEN! BEFOR ALL OF THIS PT WAS BASICLY UNUSABLE.
