Enabling/disabling Eucon in large post session locks up PT

Hi,

this has been going on for a couple of versions (both PT and EC) but when you have EC disabled in PT and open a massive post session it's impossible to enable Eucon without PT locking up with a beachball. Deleting prefs doesn't help. The only way to turn on EC is to force quit PT, create an empty session (or open a very small one) enable Eucon (which will then work) and then open the actual session. Once enabled it works just fine. Luckily EC on/off is a global setting and not tied to a specific session.
I've had this across a bunch of projects so I doubt it's session specific but maybe it is?

Yes, you are correct. In general, don't toggle EUCON on and off hot while the session is open - rather enable or disable it and then open your session.

How do I enable EC without a session open Jeff? I was under the impression that option only exists in the tool bar which is only there when a session is open.

Sorry, that was a little misleading. EUCON is sticky, so if you enabled EUCON and open any sessions, EUCON will still be enabled. It doesn't save state with the session. So - you would have to make a new blank session - toggle it, then open your mega session.

Ok, yeah, that's how I've been working around it. I wasn't aware it was a known thing.

Same seems to be true for the Midi Joystick (JLcooper) in peripherals. PT also locks up when you set it up there in a large session. Has to be done without anything open or in a small one.
