No, the "ON" button turns on the channel. The "MUTE" button mutes it. When the "ON" button is off, the channel is off.

I too wish there was something better than the Euphonix artist series. I had two but really wanted 24 faders. These are so wide that that is not possible in my setup. A C24 packs 24 faders in a much smaller width, which is good, but it is way too DEEP for me! Plus I don't really need all the pres etc.

I would love to see a smaller (less deep) 24 fader controller, I guess without all the analogue audio bits to make it cheaper too!
