Avalon vs Great River......or.........

Hi guys....
thinking of buying a pre......don't want colouration to my sound...just pure...clean...pre...which one is more suitable for me? Avalon's 2022....or a great river mp-2nv? I need a Stereo pre....for tracking sound modules and some live stereo source...

is it true i heard Avalon is going to close? heard from the sales person saying that it's so hard to get shipment from avalon nowaday.....is it true?...am I going to be stuck with no customer support from avalon?...haha....

or do you guys no any other pre that might be good....budget is around 3000...only need 2 ch of pre...and.....i am doing more of R&B and hip hop sounding kinda music...any suggestion would be SWEEET!

actually man, i played with this trident two channel that was only $900 at GC the other day.... sounded great!

only 2 channels? Check out the Grace Design 201, or, Grace design Lunatec if you need it to be portable. Tons of headroom, extremely low noise, and transparent.

if you do not want coloration of the sound you might look int othe Amek line... I just bought a Amek PurePath DMCL to compliment my great River... it rocks..

The great river can range from clean to colorful.... it has independent input and output knobs... and all kinds of nifty buttons that change the sound.

I have never really been inplressed with anything Avalon..

I do Hip-Hop too and I use the Universal Audio M610 and they sound beautiful!!! ( I paid like $9beans a piece) But if you looking to spend that kinda paper You would wanna get the API 3124 (its comes with 4 mic pres) and they sound NUTZ!!! Especially on rappers!!

You might want to audition a GML 8302.

He wants to spend about $3,000 for two channels. A single XLogic Channel is about $3,500.
