Default Attention PT TDM XP Users!

Hi!

NEW INFO ADDED BELOW - Scroll down if ya read the original post. Future updates regarding the website will appear in this post, with the most recent content at the end of THIS POST. THX!

original post --------------------------------------------

I am beginning work on a web site for PT TDM XP Users. But, I am going to need alot of help from you guys...please?

First, there will be a section for hardware. Not just user built systems; I am looking for reviews of pre-built systems, builders (such as Carillon, Sweetwater, Dell, etc, and things like quality of build, support, etc.), specific pieces (like vid cards, drives- external/internal- etc), ancillary hardware (control surfaces, expansion chassis, etc), laptops, etc.

Next, software.
Plugins, soft synths, etc.
Reviews, what works, what doesn't, and tips, tricks, hidden features, "little known," and tutorials (would love nice tutorials with screenshots and such, from the most basic to ultra advanced; a nice "installing the hardware" tut with digital camera stills would be great, with a digital camcorder would be incredible)

For those who contribute, pics of your rigs, of you, etc will be available to be displayed on the site. If you want to allow others to contact you, please specify this explicitly, and include the info to do so EXACTLY as you would like it displayed. If you want a link to your site with your contribution to the site, this would of course be great! Expanding the PT TDM XP community is what this is about, while allowing us all to have info at our disposal, in a single place that is easy to navigate and find things.

Suggestions, questions, contributions, etc; All correspondence please to:

[email protected]

I hope to have the basic skeleton done and up over the next several days. Color scheme and graphic object suggestions welcomed and appreciated over these next few days, so that once the skeleton is up and going, I dont have to worry that some great idea for it will pop up weeks from now, making me sob uncontrollably while screaming, "Why? WHY?????!!!!!!"

As things progress, I will post them here in this thread.

I love Pro Tools. And I love using it on XP. The more users on XP, the more developers will...err, umm...develop for us! If the info is there for current and new users, it will make it easier for us/them, and therefor increase the user base.

Please do NOT include attachments in the initial email, or unless you warn me first; all attachments will be deleted by my email host unless I specifically allow them.

end orig post -------------------------------------------------------------------

May 30, 2005 ---------------------------------------------------

Site up!
No relevant content, just a basic skeleton...but a working skeleton!
Problems, comments, additions, etc- send em please! [email protected] is the official email for the site now. Please send email to that address only please.

I have some content already from users, so it will get incorporated as the week progresses. Since content is usually sent in plain text form, or maybe a Word doc, It needs to be "translated" into a form that works with the web, and then within the structure of the site itself.

Here ya go:
Pro Tools TDM for XP InfoCenter

Check back here and there for updates, news, etc.

thx again to all that have begun helping out!!!

end May 30, 2005 update ---------------------------------------

June11, 2005 ----------------------------------
Content being added
Hardware section has entries
Links page has links

I have user configs to add still, but I really would love more users to please ssend info via email please! System you use, built, etc; tutorials; tips + tricks; anything that others would benefit from realy.

Feedback would also be welcomed on how things are so far.
Thx again!

end June 11, 2005 edit ------------------------------------------

Hi!

Site "skeleton" is now up.
Although there is no content, I would appreciate feedback on the basic structure please.
To those that have sent email/content- thank you! It is all of us that will make or break this idea

Since it is a Bar-B-Q 3 day weekend, I haven't had (ok, havent MADE) time for web stuff. But, I did get the structure up, so... hehehe!

I have updated the first post I made in this thread, and will continue to edit that first post with site updates, news, etc.

thx!

I got scared when the BIG EYE pop onto the screen. Looks very nice. The "keep nudity to a minimum" rule kind of bummed me out though.
Good luck with it.
