Default JLCooper MMC to 9 Pin w/ PT

Hey guys, wondering if anyone has had any use of the JLCooper MMC to 9Pin+ converter. Would it be possible to use this device for remote track arming on a Digi, Betacam SP etc? Has anyone used this device and have any opinions or thoughts on it? What disadvantages would you have using this over a conventinal 9 Pin Remote Setup?

Thanks, Matt
