Pro Tools 2024.6 preview

Was at the MTPS show yesterday in London where Jigsaw24 were previewing a beta of the next build. The two main new things seemed to be some pretty dramatic changes to the session import dialog inc pretty colours, folders etc - could be very useful for those working with templates in particular. The other thing was more flexibility and options with Dolby Atmos.

Not previewing there, but also perhaps worth highlighting that June should bring some major EUCON updates with the S1/S3 - new options to rapidly switch between different configurations.

I really hope my 4+ Years wait for Bug PT-263050 to be fixed is finally there,
I need an entire system hardware/ softward upgrade to the studio, I'm behind an entire tech-cycle because of this bug

It's been a long time since we've seen a EuCon update of any kind so I do hope we see something soon.

Yeah, the new improvements in Dolby ATMOS are really nice in the track window and also some other things that make it much easier to see. Also some other things.. Not sure I"m able to share, but I'll inquire, but should see in the June update. Basically working with labels to streamline and improve the re-render experience from what I remember from convos.

Top of p2 here has a tantalising screen grab of some new options from Eddie - https://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=418381 . He said in another post they're aiming for June to release - they had a few EuCon people leave so it has taken them a while to get back up to speed.

Were there any improvements or new features regarding MIDI that were shared? Really hoping loop record to MIDI playlists with MIDI playlist view is finally implemented.

you know what i'd love to see in 2024.6 ??
my Pro Tools working 100% and not timing out 4x a day due to Pace iLok issues...

i need ilok and Avid to allow for computer hard drive system authorization
that's all !!! nothing else

Why? Most of us use dongle authorization w/ PT and have no issues. I'm sure you're experiencing what you've described but it's not PT's fault, and probably not Pace's. You have some troubleshooting to do.

ilok cloud would be perfect if it would work properly..
