Default usb midi keyboard setup?

Can anyone point me to a link ( or tell me here) explaining setup of a USB midi keyboard within PT6.4 LE? I have an Oxygen8 keyboard I want to use to trigger SampleTank, but can't seem to get it to work. Any help is appreciated

Just use the USB cable and go to the midi setup and hook the arrows together out to in, in to out

Do you see the Oxygen 8 in the Apple MIDI Setup? It should automatically show up once you've plugged it in.

Open a new PT file. Add a stereo Aux and 1 MIDI track
On the stereo Aux, insert Sampletank.
On the MIDI track, under output, you should be able to select Sampletank Channel 1.
Press the R record button on the MIDI track.

You should now be able to hear the Sampletank.

I have done all the correct (I think) steps with creating channels and inserting Sampletank and assigning inputs and outputs, but the keyboard doesn't trigger anything. I will look into the Apple midi setup to see if that helps. I was wondering if there is a setup step outside of Pro tools that is needed for the keyboard to be recognized. When I do "rescan midi" in the setup box in PT, it doesn't find the Oxygen8. All drivers are installed.

I'm also new to Mac. Is the Apple midi setup within PT, or a Mac utility?

Thanks
Tony
