11.1.3 is out - an end to PT 11 video problems?

I tried what Frank had done and uninstalled the BM v10.1 driver and installed the BM v9.7.7 driver and restarted.

No black flash frames on the head and tail of each playback pass.

Scrubbing smooth on both BM video and desktop video outputs though of course the desktop video noticeably more responsive.

Still very slow and laggy timeline selection via the select tool anywhere in the session (either on audio tracks or directly on the movie track).

At least the AVE not disconnecting so far. However we did just have a resonable earthquake thru here in Wellington which I hope is not PT or BM related..... ;-)

Have you set to Blocks instead of Thumbnails in the video track? This helped me a lot.

Getting back to BM Desk Top v9.7.7 solved the black frames.

In Video Track I/O PT now correctly sets the frame rate. Some frame rate settings don't disappear anymore.

The Video doesn't disconnect.

The Playback has still a slow response 0.5-1 sec and stutters when pressed quickly… I was told by the Avid support its normal though.

Did a quick test on Friday end of day on a Native rig on 2008 Mac Pro. BM drivers 10.1 were and pt11.1.3 were error prone. Rolling the BM driver back to 9.9.3 solved a lot of woes.

Will test with some newer Mac Pro HDX machines next week. These are with deck link studio cards.

Yes, always blocks. Still feels so much slower working with picture than PTHD10.3.8 using Blackmagic card. Wish it was different. The lag between the spacebar and the actual launch-off of video playback seems very sloooow.

On a positive note, just finished a final mix with 2 hours long video (only onscreen video though) 146 tracks, and everything worked well, there were no hiccups, no AVE disconnects, no crashes.

Just tried the 11.1.3 and 10.1 BM combo. Black frame flashes like everyone else.
Timeline selection is still giving a very poor frame rate, so it really is useless for sfx editing.
Scrubbing is okish, but nowhere near as good as PT10.
Would be ok for mixing, but other than that I'll stick to 10.

as an extremely busy fx editor , and after reading these boards, theres no way in heck i would EVER allow PT11 into my machine...it works perfect under 10.2.0 why would i change?....64 bit does nothing for me...i'll let others slam thier fingers in the car door...
