Default 2022.5: Apple-Z is now Apple-Y

My ProTools software is set to English but I am using a German keyboard (and matching keyboard layout in MacOS).

Since the latest update to 2022.5 the shortcut for undo is now cmd-y instead of cmd-z - that makes zero sense?!

I would have set a custom keyboard command in System Preferences, but as the undo function is context sensitive to whatever the last command was, this will not work. Any thoughts?

The newest release allows for customizing shortcuts, so you should be able to remap.

Oh no, gone are the days where I can walk into any studio and just shortcut away without having to think twice!

Anyways, thank you so much for the heads up, that did the trick.

Now on to remove that pesky "z" shortcut...

You can import and export your custom shortcuts, so any studio with 2022.4 or later you can export theirs, import yours and then, when you're finished import theirs back.

I'm on Windows and the Undo remains Ctlr Z or just Z in Commands Focus Mode in 2022.5.

I’s not so much being able to customize any settings as it is deviating from a decades old platform standard.

Unless there is some sort of compelling reason it seems to be poor design to change something that established in an arbitrary manner.

It's hardly arbitrary. Users have been clamoring for this for years. If you prefer the stock shortcuts then nobody is stopping you from using them. If you believe the default Z shortcut has been changed in error they you can submit a support case from your Avid account.
