Default Alesis HD24 dub to PT HD

I've got the audio going (48 tracks) via litepipe. But how can I get the positional info across?

Fritz,
If you have a MIDI interface and the Alesis will generate MTC you should be able to feed MTC to Pro Tools and resolve to the digital clock coming over the light pipe. That is the easiest way I can think of. Post more details about the equipment you have to work with.

Thanks,

PT HD OS9.2.2
Alesis HD24, 48 tracks.
connected to HD via lite.
I have a digi Sync and digi MIDI (USB)
I also have a word sync master, if need be, that can run both devices.
But I'm not very fluent connecting MIDI code. I'm a SMPTE guy.
I guess it's a setting I don't know.
I'd be happy to spit out MTC from PT and have the HD24 chase or visa vera, but I would like to get the proper locational numbers across to the new PT file, just in case.
Yesterday, I made the dub without positional info.
I locked the PT to ADAT and optical in all three frames.

Thnaks

Hi,
You will need to create a device in OMS for your Alesis. After doing so look under the Midi > Input Devices in Pro Tools and make sure that the Port on the MIDI I/O that the Alesis is attached to and the Alesis are selected as input devices. Look under the menu Setups > Peripherals and go the Synchronization tab. Set the sync device to “generic MTC reader” and the port to your Alesis. In the Session Setup window in Pro Tools set your Sync Mode to Adat. Make sure that MTC To Port is not checked. Confirm that your Session Start Time is set to a value before your incoming MTC. Set your Alesis to generate MTC. Put Pro Tools Online by clicking on the blue clock icon at the left of the transport. When you hit play on the Alesis Pro Tools should roll or record in sync. Any files you create will be time stamped with the appropriate time code value.
Hope this helps,
