Audiovision was more akin to the audio engine for Avid's NLE (though based on Digidesign components.) Digidesign's own software didn't have that. So it was never part of "ProTools" in that respect.

Much like Avid's NLE/Media Composer has clip bins, fx, gain still. That never went away in MC (and its precursors.)

If you remember, Pro Tools had to go and rebrand "regions" as "clips" when they finally brought in "clip gain" not too long ago to get some consistency with the Media Composer side where assets were always referred to as clips.

My Ultimate plan is up for renewal in just under two weeks. I am very hesitant to renew. I feel I am paying for nothing. I can afford it, but I don’t enjoy feeling like a fool over and over. I guess the only way to show Avid that they are not delivering what we expect for our money, is not to pay the ransom money.

However, like last year, I still don’t think the software is stable enough for me and there are still some pesky bugs to fix, so in the vain hope that there is a better version coming, I might surrender. Again. Perhaps I will let it slip for 29 days just to show them how hesitant I am.
