Default Audiomedia II / Digitest 2.1 / \"Failed test 26\"

hello,
I recently bought an Audiomedia II card for my old 7100/66 nuBus PPC Mac. I installed the card, setup the OS with DAE3.11 / INIT3.11 and ran Digitest on the system. Digitest returns that the card "failed test 26".
Does anyone know what that means?
Is the card dead?
I've tried a few other combos of DAE/DSIs, with no success.
All constructive comments are appreciated.

thanks,
kwigg22

DigiTest errors 14-49 are "NuBus DSP Memory Failures" so it sounds like a hardware failure.

I believe that we can still repair AMII's, so please contact Tech Support if you want to pursue this.

The strange thing is that another card I picked up a few months ago threw the same error.
The first card was Rev. B, the second card was Rev. A-2.
How much you think they would change to repair the cards?

Okay, so i get an email from another Audiomedia user who ran his cards on a 8100 (w/G3 card), running OS 8.6. So I'm beginning to wonder if the OS version isn't the culprit.

I'm running 8.5 ...
I called Digitech this afternoon and was told that in order for me to even inquire about returning the card(s) back to Digitech, I would have to call a 900 number (@ three bucks a minute). She couldn't even tell me the bench fee, although she said that for legacy equipment is was pretty steep. Tried loading OMS today with PT3.4, using DAE/DSI 3.11 and the Digidesign Sound Drivers (1.43) ... lockup.

I don't see how the OS version would contribute to this error, the few RAs we've done for this error were confirmed hardware failures.

Repair/replacement of an AMII would be $200, but I'm concerned by the fact that you had the same error with 2 different cards.

I just recently put my trusty 7100 out to pasture, but I could try to find a similar machine to check it before it goes to the repair dept if you want to send it in. I'll email you an RA#.

Thanks for the attention Jeff, but I'm just going to find a PCI solution with a 7500/100 I recently inherited. I have all of $20 bucks in this ol' 7100/66. I was trying to use the AMII to extend the functionality of this dinosaur in my live rig. I was thinking that it would have been cool to use as some kind of sequencer/noise/rhythm generator. I guess I could use the audio out and run PT3.4 in PowerMix mode, but the input would have very cool to have.
Plus the AMIIs I've heard sound really good (IMHO).

If anyone out there has seen the "failed test 26" behavior before, please feel free to add to this thread as I will be checking back from time to time.
