How do I assign MIDI inputs onto instrument tracks?

Hello,
How can I create MIDI inputs onto instrument tracks? At present, each track gives me an input option for no input, interface, bus and plug in. Why doesn't each instrument track offer the All option? How can I create the All option?

How is it plugged in and to what?

Thanks for your replies on both of my posts today.

I am using a 003 rack for an interface. MIDI tracks display the MIDI inputs but they don't display on instrument tracks.

Can they be created in instrument tracks? How?

The Midi should show up on VI tracks and MIDI tracks but not audio tracks... MIDI does not send any audio its just data.

Can you explain a little more detail your setup??

Like.... you have a XXX synth plugged via MIDI cables into the 003r... you create a XXX track (Audio? MIDI? VI?) and then attempt to assign the midi to be the input on that track?? Are you trying to record MIDI? Audio from the synth? Both? Are you just using the synth or MIDI controller plugged into your 003r to record MIDI data and not audio?

Anything you can think of to help get an understanding of A. how its setup B. what you are trying to accomplish

Hi,

I think you are looking at the audio input and not the midi input/output for the channel.

Here's a basic no audio video showing first the midi instrument view then the midi input, then output then the audio output. then it also shows the midi studio which takes you to the AMS audio midi setup. your midi interface 003 rack should be showing here!!...
