Default 003 Rack+ Mic/Line Switch Default Problem

Hello,

I am technician for a college, and we have recently upgraded to PT8 w/ Digi003 Rack+ & Command8. However, I have a rather serious (for our situation) issue.

Due to the set-up (running with a large analogue console) we use the Line Inputs rather than the Mic inputs. (I know but it teaches routing principles!). Any how, so all of the inputs/channels are set to Line Input rather than mic. However, if it is switched off and then back on again it reverts back to Mic input, require you to go through every channel and switch it back again. Please tell me there is a way round this!

We need it to boot straight to Line In, otherwise it will have to become part of the studio power procedure, and some of our lower level learners will get really confused by this.

I don't know if it is related, but I have read the three "ticks" are normal during boot, but throughout all three sync buttons flash incredibly faintly. Im not sure if it should or shouldn't do this, these flashes are barely visible. But the device is the master and set accordingly everywhere I can think of.

Please help, the students come back next week!

Can't help on the flashes(but its likely not an issue). Sadly, the mic/line switching will need to become part of the turn-on routine(a reason a recommend against the 003+). Any chance your audio vendor would trade them out for 003R(without the plus)??? Not sure why you bought all those extra preamps anyway

lights flash on the + (theres one light thats on a pc bored inside that you can see bleeding threw the face if you look close) until windows loads the drivers and clocks the thing they don't matter much.

No way i know of to have it startup without mute and mic selected.

id ad it to your startup its only 16 more buttons to press and 8 lights to check. not to mention IMHO this is exactly what they should be learning in school. The flow of the studio they are working in. Not the ideal flow they may never see.
