Default Panning center to left to right to center

Hi, newb question here, and it might sound a little strange since I don't really know how to explain it. I was just wondering how you would pan one track from the center to the left to the center to the right back to the center. Is it a plug-in? Double track? Here's an example:

Why wouldn't you just "pan" it using the "pan" function?

HI
1) as already said, just use the standard pan function and if you enable automation then this will be remembered as a dynamic move.
2) or map it in the pan drop down in the track arm section in the left of the edit window
3) or as lots of engineers might prefer and Ive done this myself many times, if its a swift move youre after, you can copy the audio to 2 mono tracks and if youve a desk, use the faders under a finger to effect a pan merely by adjusting the volume of each leg. Personally I find mixing on the mix window a very poor option being used to a console.

Better yet, select PAN to show on the track(in the edit window), use the grabber tool to put break points and drag the line up(for left) and down(for right).
