Edit Window Cursor Not In Sync
Hi
At work we're running a 48 channel HD2 192 + sync rig on a Quad Core Xeon 3Ghz with 4Gb RAM with ATI Radeon HD2600 256Mb. Currently Mac OS 10.6.6 and HD 8.1.1 We have a problem that I first noticed when we upgraded from 8.03 to 8.04 (I cant remember what OS but it might have been a move to Snow Leopard). The problem is when occasionally playing back and recording the edit window display is not in sync with audio. Playback and recording is not affected and it can sort of be cured by zooming in the out again. I've tried all the usual, followed protocols when upgrading etc but I'm not the only user. I thought it could be down to a Keyspan serial adapter (V2.6 syncing to SSL9000J) but I've unplugged and disabled it. There are no obvious issues in console and I'm completely stuck... Any ideas? I've had a good search here and not found any relevant posts TIA Simon |

Re: Edit Window Cursor Not In Sync
Hi, I had the same problem. The reason was that ADC was active, and at least one track exceeded the maximum delay that could be compensated.
Solution: Set your Delay Compensation Engine to "Long" and watch the delays in your mix windows (avoid them to be red).

Re: Edit Window Cursor Not In Sync
Hi, thanks for posting. I have adc off when recording and when mixing have it on short as I only use a few compressor plugins. We normally always have quick punch enabled when tracking, disabling improves the situation. I'll investigate long ADC to see if the playback issue gets better...

Re: Edit Window Cursor Not In Sync
Any news on this?
The biggest problem is that the automation data is also out of sync in this case... I never saw this behavior in PT 5.1, before I upgraded to HD 8.0. Anyone else with this problem? Any suggestions to solve this?

Re: Edit Window Cursor Not In Sync
are any of the tracks elastic?
processing of elastic tracks in real time takes up resources.

Re: Edit Window Cursor Not In Sync
no.
but is it true that automation data is not considered by ADC? So that might be the reason... I read this in another thread. I will test this.
