Default MIDI Machine Control out of control

Anybody got suggestions on MMC? I'm using two MIXPlus systems to mix feature films. On system #1 I have digitized video. System #2 accesses that video via MMC. System #1 generates time code for system #2 via USD.

I press play on system #2. System #1 starts playing, and system #2 joins in once it receives LTC. Or if I like, I can just press play on system #1, and system #2 will lock up to it.

It all works fine for about 15 minutes, after which it starts acting crazy, to the point where I have to disable MMC in order to continue my mix. The video will start skipping around all over the place, or sound will stop playing on system #2. Any advice, anyone?

Thanks,
Ben

I may be misunderstanding what you are doing but...
you don't need MMC. Turn on "generate time code via USD" on system 2 (the one with audio). Put system 1 & 2 "online", plug TC out from system 2 to TC in on system 1. hit play and vidio should chase system 2.
Is that what you are doing?
also check for a bad connection that is causing TC dropouts. When system 1 jumps around what kind of TC is showing up on the USD???

good luck

I'm using LTC to lock system #2 to system #1. That's working fine. What I'm using MMC for is to be able to click somewhere on system #2's edit window and have the picture from system #1 jump to that location (and then play if I press play). That would allow me to quickly mix perspective changes, check sync on certain sound elements, etc.

Any suggestions on how to get MMC to stop acting crazy?
