How to mute individual midi notes?

How to mute individual midi notes? Is this possible? I can mute indivitual audio pieces on a track but I can find in the manual how to do this with midi.

Change the midi track from notes to regions and then select the note you want to mute and cut it into a seperate region and mute as you would an audio track. Alternatively set the automation to write and mute the note as required using the mute button.
