Default I don't get the pricing structure for upgrades

I'm more than likely going to help a buddy upgrade his mac to 10.5.x and have gone through all the required info. I know that PT 7.4.2 is needed. which means I need to upgrade to 7.4. Buddy is on 7.1.x so.... I don't get it.

The purchase buttons have 2 options, upgrade from 7.3 to 7.4 or full install.

The various documents I've been reading suggests that a simple upgrade from 7.1 is enough.

So which option am I to tell my buddy to pick so he can have that downloaded and burnt to disc before I get going with the upgrade?

Thanks in advance
