Setting up Zoom R24 as a control surface

I recently purchased a Zoom R24, which I am having trouble setting up as a control surface. I read an old thread that had issues with an R16 and PT8, which was solved by downloading Midi Ox, which is only available for Windows.

I set the unit up in peripherals, but after a minute Pro Tools tells me that it is unable to communicate with the HUI. It works fine as a control surface in Final Cut Pro.

PT 10, Macbook Pro Dual 2.4, OS 10.6.8, Mbox 2
