Default ProTools HD 7.4 - Can\'t import video file. HELP!!!!!!

Hi DIGI Peeps,

I just upgraded from ProTools LE to ProTools HD2 PCI, Core & Process (system specs below).

With the new HD i can-not import a video file into the session, even previous videos that were imported into my LE sessions.
Opening old LE sessions in HD has the QT movies missing aswell and I cant add them again.

Error message stating:

" Can't import the selected video file because it does not contain any video formats "

I have read threads saying make sure there is no illegal characters or try converting the vid to DV format, but still no luck!!!!

I am tearing my hair out to get this to work, I have a deadline on a spot for tomorrow, shhhhhhITT!

Nearly all videos worked in PT LE, now hardly any video file works in PT HD. Have re-installed PT HD 7.4 thinking it might be something to do with the 7.4cs3 update bug.

Another note:
When installing 7.4, downloaded update, the installation would go through the normal procedures and would then prompt to restart, when I did hit restart the G5 never restarted just started spinning fans like it was about to take off, I then force powered off and turned on again. This happened on both occasions when i trieds to re-install PT after un-installing it completely.

Anybody had this problem before and knows a solution?

Digi Admin help???????

Please.

Thanks

Jay

dont have an answer for your unique problem but throwing ideas out there:

moving the video or copying entire session to new drive and seeing if pro tools loads the video then.

also, are these DV 25 footage? try converting them if not to see that helps.

I might revert to 7.3 if I had to get a project done.

All good suggestions - also, do any of the drives or enclosing folders have any illegal characters, especially a slash - '/'?
