Common sense.
Step one: PT 8 only for leopard support. Upgrade fee $99
Step two:
Step 3: Profit!
Well, what is step 2?!?!
Ah, Maybe rewriting it for another 99.00 after 10.5.2 drops?

Funny enough. Digital Performer and Logic Pro run ABSOLUTELY PERFECT in Leopard.

The rest of this talk is just a bunch of excuses.
So CPU spikes are a normal thing in Logic?

I've had problems with Logic and CPU overloads, and that hasn't even been on 10.5, it's been 10.4. PLus, a quick look at Apple's Logic forums show that it is not "absolutely perfect" running in Leopard.

ok just to report protools 7.4 works ok with the Mbox1 on a macbook leopard (tried a couple of heavy session, I just had troubles with kontakt 2 which peaks the cpu for no reason but it seems to be a problem with kontakt).
BUT the coreaudio doesn't work at all, the usb led is not even lit before protools is launched, and the mbox2 driver doesn't connect to the mbox. Should it be corected with the 10.5.2 upgrade?
ok please go on

Another successful Macbook, with MBox1 and 7.4 running on 10.5.1

This is a brand new Macbook, I brought it home tonite and installed PT. So far so good, I can play back sessions (no 3rd party plugs), haven't tried anything else at this stage. I didn't install Core Audio, and the only non-Apple program on the machine at the moment is PTLE. Now that it works I will slowly add (after first cloning the current system).

My only issue is some speaker hum, which disappears when the MB power cable is disconnected. I still have my older system all set up, so I'm hoping I get get rid of that once I move things around. But PT itself seems to run fine so far.

Actually, it's not. There are several issues that need to be resolved between Apple and Digi before Leopard support can be implemented. We are working closely with Apple to get these issues resolved.

I just purchased a new mac pro 3.0 8 core. Can I just partition the hard drive or use the second hard drive to install tiger? That way I can just boot tiger at start up when I want to use protools. Would this be a temp. fix until support for Leopard is out?

Yes, please, could someone briefly explain what is the easiest way to downgrade a new e.g. MacBook to 10.4? (My Apple dealer told me that new machines won't let you install Tiger.)

Thanks!

i got a macbook santarosa series, i will try to "clone" my old 10.4.10 on it...
major problem could be the x3100 video card in latest macbook, cant say if it works properly cause i remember that driver was in leopard delivered machines and latest macbook wasnt shipped with tiger for what i know!
