Default Strike Edit Window Loop Length Setting Question

I have created a pattern (Verse A) in 4/4 time and I want to trigger a fill that I also created. The trigger should come in at the end of the Verse pattern on the up beat (1 and) and last for beats 2-3-4 and then go right back into Verse A.

When I trigger the fill it doesn't start when I want it to even though I have experimented with the Configuration settings. It also doesn't return to the Verse pattern until it reaches the end of it's loop, 3 beats later.

How do I overcome this?

I don't know if it's possible to export the pattern for you to review.

One approach, would be to copy & paste Verse A to a pre-existing 4 measure length by using the Clear Part button.

It's a little backwards finding/loading a pattern length template first, really, pattern length should be user definable and I'm unclear as to why AIR have chosen this route. Maybe it has something to do with the Timeline intregration, Time Signture and Tempo engine in Strike, I don't know, I'm just thinking out aloud.
