Default plug ins

Does any one know where I can get free plug ins for my 001, I know you can download demo versions, but is anyone writing them as freeware/shareware etc?? Is it possible to write your own, what kind of language and script editors are used in making plug ins.

1- There's only one that I know of, but initially (and recently) it just came out for mac only.... GRM Tools has a free Mac RTAS plug-in available for download. GRM used to do just mac plugs, but they also do windows now, so perhaps they'll make a win version as well of the free plug.

2 - Digidevelopers.com has information about developing plug-ins for the RTAS, AS, and TDM formats.

Too bad there API is only accessible to "qualified" companies, not the rest of us who might be perfectly capable of writing useful stuff.

[sarcasm]It would be terrible for the Digi user base if lots of shareware plugins were floating around because some of them wouldn't be up to snuff, which would reflect badly on Digi. Look at all those DirectX-compatible products... people don't take them seriously because of all the so-so plugins that people can get from various websites. Besides, there are PLENTY of plugins already available for PC users.[/sarcasm]

(sorry, had to get that off my chest...)
