Default Automap for Novation ReMOTE SL now available!

Check it out!

At last! I never thought it would happen, but it looks like the most advanced and detailed automap yet - just look at the PT integration. It's amazing!

I'll still use my Command|8 for mixing (for the touch sensitive faders and the tight integration), but for instruments this is going to be heaven.

I also want to take my PT rig on the road and this makes PT more of a fluid instrument.

Best news ever.

Peace,

Sonny

The Automap for PT is excellent. I have two gripes though...

1. Digidesign was not interested in working with Novation to create an Automap which would allow instant switching between plug-in tempplates. The Automaps for other applications allow this.

2. The top left encoders must be used to change plug-in parameters. They are an infinite, clicking rotary\ies which means it is impossible to write smooth automation sweeps and such. Would have been good if you could do this using the bottom right rotaries, as they are unused on the PT Automap template. Apparently it cannot be set up that eway though.

Asside from that it's excellent.

Aah... back down to earth with a bump.
In fact, if any company is about to bring out an intergrated mikdi controller keyboard, it will simply be m-audio or digi, simple as that.

Ha, sorry spoil the party. PT Automap is great dont get me wrong but it is going stay stay great and become nothing more since Digi are not interested in working with Novation any further on the Automap. They were simply allowed to use the HUI protocol.

Yeah M-Audio or Digi might bring out a controller keyboard but I doubt that it would be anywhere near as good as the SL. We shall see though.

Is an automap a data file that could be modified by end users, and does Novation publish the format? If not, investigation of how an automap addresses all the knobs might allow a determined user to modify the PT template to use the lower right knobs...

I was thninking the same thing. I know you can edit CC number and such like a normal tewmplate but Novation tech support told me that the HUi protocol can only use infinite encoders for editing plug ins with the HUI protocol. I will try to tweak it tonight, maybe change some CC numbers or something and see what happens.

Novation dont publish the format.

Well, after a playing with the PT Automap a bit more, iv've found that it is actually much quicker to do all assigning and selection of plug ins and routing with the mouse and use the SL for actual editing of the parameters. How bout everyone else?

I notice that Mackie HUI hardware only employs infinite encoders, not smooth rotaries. So it's not surprising the HUI protocol doesn't include support for it. Ah well...
