Eucontrol Icon at dock

Your "fix" does not work.
I followed the instructions presisely, and after enabling permissions and enabling eucon in security/accessability, I now have a eucon that won't load at startup and if I try and launch it with a double-click I'm told that I don't have permission to open Eucontrol, and to contact the owner of the pc or the network administrator. I will reinstall and try to forget about this ****.

I reinstalled Eucontrol 2022.4 and stuff seems to be back to normal. I don't recommend this to anyone, and I'll not bother with it again.

I guess I encountered the MacOS SIP (System Integrity Protection) with that "fix". SIP is supposed to not allow 'signed' apps to run if they are altered, I think. I know how to disable SIP but I won't do it.

It did work for me with latest EUControl version and proper plist edit.

what OS are you on? after editing the plist, my m1 does not let me open the software anymore, "can't be opened", ppl say it's bc the codesigning is broken, not in your case? did you turn gatekeeper of or something?

This is super annoying and possibly forcing me to install a third party Dock application (which I might have wanted to do anyways). Avid really ought to fix it and I also understand that software is complex and it doesn't happen with a magic wand.

We changed this behavior in to remove it from the Dock. Not one beta tester liked it, and all asked me to put it back as before! Sooo..... we made it an option on the right click menu. Look out for in the next release in a few weeks.

How many "few weeks" are we talking about?

I'm also looking forward to it. I never understood why the Eucontrol icon was kept in the Dock in the first place, since you can't do anything with it anyway. Specially because there's already an icon in the macOS menu bar that you can interact with. So yeah, can't wait to give my Dock a little more free space

We are at beta 4. Hopefully can start Release Candidates later this week. Timing all depends on how many extra bugs are found and how difficult it is to fix them.
The reason you might want the Icon in the Dock is so that you can tab to the EuControl Window...and not have to go to the icon up top to open it.
