If I understand you correctly you want to comp the vocals by cutting and pasting the verse, chorus, etc whithout having to record them again? Just cut and paste, and line up with the music, am I missing something?
You should record the vocals mono if you have one vocal mic... I've heard of people recording vocals in stereo but it more to create an effect.

Hi S W A M P
Yes, you can copy and paste sections of your song, but consider this first. That can make for a boring song. Why not get your vocalist to sing each section in and vary each hook a little every time? From a technical point of view, yeah it's fun to learn the tricks. But creatively, repetition can be dullsville. Or you could get your singer to sing the song a dozen times, each time a little different, and cut and paste individual sections into one 'comp'track. Lots of fun and much more interesting that just copying the same part over and over. |
