Default Problem...Protools has detected that the core audio

Hello,
I have just installed Pro Tools Carbon which replaces my HD OMNI.
I keep getting this 'error' when I am in setup, I/O.

"Pro Tools has detected that the Core Audio configuration on your system has changed. I/O Setup and any dialogs will be canceled and closed."

I am on PT2023.12.1 Ultimate with a Mac Studio on Ventura 13.5.1
I have also uninstalled the HD Driver that was used with the HD Omni.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Cheers
Rosco

I suspect your HD Driver hasn't been completely removed.

Can I suggest using Pete Gates "PT Prefs" to delete the Carbon I/O settings and see if that helps. It's in the advanced settings, as shown in the diagram. The link to PT Prefs is at the top of the MacOS forum, and here:

Thanks dominicperry.
I thought it did fix it, as after I reset the prefs, it did not come up with the message. I even left it for a couple of minutes...
nothing.

Then later when I tried it again, the message came up again
Frustrating!

The HD driver does not interfere with Carbon, I go back and forth between Carbon and HDX on my MacBook..

Humm I think I got that message once or twice Perhaps When I had used the iMac speakers and mic for a Zoom meeting But I do not remember the fix I may have just clicked OK and PT booted anyway and was fine.

OR I may have closed PT and held down the (N) key while launching PT and reselected Carbon

OR I may have closed PT and gone into Mac "System Settings" > Sound and selected Carbon and also gone into Mac "Audio Midi set up" and selected Carbon

I'm getting this as well. I have the current version of ProTools Ultimate and I'm using an HDX card. HDX driver is current as well and still no change. I can't spend more than a minute with my I/O open before I get that error. Very frustrating while I'm trying to organize IO.

If you have access to a wired mouse and keyboard try turning bluetooth off. What‘s your system specs btw.?

Great suggestion. I was messing with Bluetooth recently trying to get a way to get my AirPods to hook up to ProTools but otherwise I've had Bluetooth off. I've always had a wired keyboard and wired trackball. I'm going to turn it off and see what happens. I never had this problem before and I'm surprised I didn't think of that myself. Thank you for the suggestion and I'll let you know.
