Hi,
is this a bug or intended? I can export a routing folder as session via Export Selected Track as session but when trying to do this with a basic folder that option is greyed out. So after having imported some track markers to a basic folder via session import it becomes impossible to export just that track alone as a session unless you do all sorts of work-arounds like moving all those markers to a routing folder or regular audio track. Is this a wanted behavior or a bug? Thanks!

However, This is an unusual workflow so it’s possible it’s a bug. If you put just a blank audio track inside the basic folder, does it export then? |

Seems like a bug or oversight to me or AVID doesn't consider basic folders as tracks even though you can put track markers on them.

I suspect an oversight but it seems a functional bug to me. Maybe open a support case. I can see cases like wanting to map out and share a song structure where this would be handy, I have never thought of trying it.
For users of Intro especially: (non routed) folders don't count in the product track limits and so this may be useful/flexible there for sharing markers. (A digression, but separately I am thinking about a bunch of issues with Pro Tools handling of track limits). |

Yeah these are basic folders that PT creates when you import markers to basic folder via session data import in the marker tab. I want to re-share them to team members as a stand-alone track in a session. I guess I'll have to do the old, close session, create new empty session, import that track, save, close, open work session routine that we were all used to before "export selected as session" was born. Or i create a dummy empty audio track inside the folder. Probably faster
Kind of an edge case but just didn't seem logical to me...

Frank,
You can save the folder as a track preset removing the check boxes for everything except Track Markers and then send that off. When the receiver creates a new track with the track preset it will import all the markers. |
