Default Session will not open: "..basic_string while translating Audio Region List"

Getting this often on this project..

- got AAF from MC (guessing at least 2012.12), 3 folders (rendered, unrendered, only rendered). Did SAVE SESSION COPY IN.. and sent that to the sound editors.
- they reported getting this error and tracked it down to the ref. audio from the QT, deleted the audio.
- ..however, by the time I got it (to mix), the session wouldn't open anymore (with the error message in the subject line, no code). Only way to open it was to make a brand new session and import tracks (linking audio).

A few times while working on it (and, of course, during the day of the screening) I had to re-track import again (same error message).

I worked 2 days w/o a hitch, then -doing fixes - I was able to open it but ALL the menu items were greyed out+it wouldn't playback.
Had to force quit (wouldn't even close the session).

That was a new one for me.

Did another track import into a fresh session and today I'm getting "automation too dense" messages..

I guess I'm going to do another "save session as" and re-copy all the WAV files to rule out corruption (ran them through Peter Gates' WAV CHECKER, no issues)..

Ideas ??? (both times MAC STUDIO, os 14.7.2, PT Ultimate 2024.10.2)

Try opening a session and simply Import the faulty session's file on the newly created session.

So..a track import ? I've already done this a few times

Worked on it yesterday and this morning getting the same message ("Could not complete your request because basic_string while translating Audio Region List."),
nothing will work except yet another Track Import.

..however, I figured I'd CONSOLIDATE instead of linking or copying and got this: "Could not complete your request because Assertion in "../../Cmn/Cmn_Interval.h", line 139."

..so then I made a clean session, track imported and did a COPY FILES. That worked but the Clip List didn't look complete, I saved the session and reopened and got a
"Basic_string" message. So something is still weird.

..closed that session, re-opened and getting the same error message as in subject line, so it doesn't seem related to audio files.

Now I'm back to greyed out MENU's again, can't save, close, anything, only force quit. This is @#$*(* fun

Looks like when I get the "Basic_string" error message is when I get greyed out menu's.

As I deal with this, sometimes this opens, sometimes not, can't narrow it down.

.
Not track import, im referring to Importing Session’s data.
You should be able to see it under the file tab when on a session.
Try importing your faulty session’s data on a newley created session

What data are you referring to ? ok, this takes me to the track (ok, and session data) window so - besides for the tracks - what other session data ??
I've already done this about 1/2 dozen times into fresh sessions and still get the issue, I've also LINKED and COPY'd audio, no change.
