Avid does not have any program to do ongoing qualifications of existing Pro Tools releases on new macOS releases, and Avid staff in other threads about this in the past on DUC have stated that the practical expectation is users will take minor macOS release updates that are not formally qualified.

Any idea where the threads are that point to this practical expectation?

There have been lots of threads about this on DUC. This thread is largely just wasting more space repeating what has already been covered and is all findable with a Google Search and site:duc.avid.com qualifier.

As for comments from Avid staff, here is Marianna agreeing about Avid's expectations of users taking minor release updates: https://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=429171&page=3. But this has also come up in other private conversations with Avid staff.

And again, please manage your risks, have backups, have a rollback/recovery plan. Watch out for problem reports on DUC (posting asking if folks are having problems is often a waste of time... if there are problems folks here are thankfully not shy and will let everybody know about them, and that is what google search is for.).

And to argue for some macOS update caution, right now Apple is rolling out more AI stupidity in Sequoia releases, so I would encourage folks to look at macOS release notes and if possible only take them if they contain important sounding bug fixes/security updates. And please, nobody should have auto updates enabled on macOS or Windows.

Has anyone noticed that the internet is about 80% slower after installing macOS 15.0-15.2?
It's 100% the fault of macOS 15.0-15.2!

I lost two days trying to fix it and failed.
So now I've got no choice but to install macOS 14.6 cleanly from a USB stick.
This means I'll have to delete the boot HD from macOS 15.2 as I don't have a backup for it and install everything anew.

Thanks, Apple!

I confirm the problem with both LAN and WLAN.
Speed test from Ookla > Apple Store:
12.09.24 - macOS 14.x - Download 23.6 Mbps. Upload 2.7 Mbps.
20.01.25 - macOS 15.2 - Download 3.77Mbps. Upload 2.07Mbps.

FritzBox router shows maximum download and upload correctly.

iPhone - using WLAN, speed test from Ookla > Apple Store: Download and upload OK.
MacPro 3.33 Ghz SIX CORE | OS X 10.13.6: Download and upload OK.

Apple Support Community- More and more reports of this problem.

I'm on 15.2. I definitely would have noticed an 80% drop in speed, but it does seem to be a little less snappity-fast than before. I thought it was just me and being overly sensitive.

I did a speed test just now and I'm reaching my maximum UL/DL speeds.
