Sound Playback help

Hi, I just installed protools TDM 6.4 on my g4(which is running OSX 10.3.9) and also connected a 888 24 I/O and everything seems to be working fine - I can record and see the waveform just fine but can't hear anything on playback. I've tried installing the CoreAudio Driver hoping that would fix it. In sound preferences I have the Digidesing HW (MIX) selected for input, and for the output I have my normal speakers selected. Can anyone help me? I feel like I'm missing something really simple but because I'm so new to all of this I don't know what it is. I've downloaded the manuals for protools 6.4 and also one for my 888 and can't seem to find anything in there to help.

Hi,

If your using Pro tools for recording and playback! then you don't need to have the coreaudio setup for playback in the Mac AMS settings. having the coreaudio set for playback in the AMS is for using third party apps like logic or itunes through the digi hardware.

can you see movement of the meters on the master fader in pro tools?
Can you see movement of the meters on the 888 interface?
check in the hardware setup page to see if you have digital output selected by mistake.
check you master channel in pro tools is set to outputs 1-2

Just to be sure, you are not talking of the computer speakers or speakers plugged into the computer speaker out?? ProTools will only output sound trough the Digi hardware.
